Summer is slowly creeping away from us...I am so glad we have been making the most of our time. The days seem so precious this year, the kids are getting older and time is going faster. I have tried to balance our adventures with time at home, time to relax. I think for all of us home is our favorite place to be and we have re-visited old favorites like hot wheels and playdough as well as kept up with the love of Lego and playing school and office. The weather hasn't been that good for long beach days but we have squeezed a few in and had alot of fun.

The best for me has been seeing the kids getting along so well....they have their moments, but, for the most part they have been playing together and showing respect for each other's space.

Swimming lessons were a big success. They all had fun with their friends, enjoyed the pool, and all passed!! Tyler will now be in level 5, Abby in level 3 and Grace in level 2. The best was seeing the improvements in their confidence and skills. Another highlight of the 2 weeks spent in lessons was the army men we picked up at the Dollar Store. The kids had so much fun creating worlds and battles for them in the sand. Watching that play develop with my kids and Zack and Ben was amazing...digging trenches, getting water, creating the forts...everyone had a job and they all seemed to know exactly what was needed.

Tyler is suffering right now with a summer cold...poor guy....we were both up for most of the night b/c he couldn't sleep. It is hard to be a consistently happy Mom when sleep is removed, but we survived and hopefully he will feel better today.

Plans today include seeing the RCMP Musical Ride in Selkirk. One of my favorite summer memories from when I was a kid is going with my parents to Gimli to see the RCMP on their horses doing their thing. I thought it was so beautiful to watch them in their red suits with the big flags all going in the same direction and making all those different patterns. I hope it doesn't rain today and I hope Tyler, Abby and Grace enjoy seeing a bit of Canadian history play out in front of us.
Time to make pancakes and get the day going. I am so grateful for this day and all the possibilities it holds!
