Finding My Way

We have been cleaning out the basement, a job that was long overdue. 
 I can't believe we lived with so much stuff weighting us down.  When we bought the farm and moved here, I was pregnant with Tyler, Murray's Grandfather was still living with us in the house, and we quickly discovered that we had not only bought our first home, but had bought 50 years of family belongings too!  The basement was full and we just added our stuff to it. 
The past 12 years we have talked about cleaning it out, but it always seemed like such a big job...where did we start!!?  Other things just seemed more important until now.  We have taken so much to the dump and given a lot away.  Murray has scrubbed walls and taken apart shelves.  There is open space down there and it feels great!  I wish we could have moved into an open space like that all those years ago.  But, we have it now and it seems like the time is right.  We are going to develop the space into a rec room, bedroom, laundry area, bathroom and snack bar.  It will be fabulous!  We are so excited!

Spring has arrived and we have been spending time outside.  That, along with all the cleaning has been great for my soul.  I can't wait to see how it all turns out!
