Tonight I am thankful for being home in a warm house with my Mrs. Claus' Kitchen Gold Canyon candle burning and the kids now safely tucked into bed. Abby has been sick this week and it has been a challenge to balance work with a sick child and needing to get her to the doctor. Murray's Mom was a great help and cancelled some activities today to be with Abby...I am grateful for that support, but I really hated not being there for her when she was sick. That is the worst part of being back at work. I am so happy that the next two days are my days off and although I had planned to finish my Christmas shopping (and get Abby's birthday present) I will instead spend the day home with Abby....baking, shopping on-line, wrapping and starting on some teacher cards. It will be a great day and it will be nice to be the one taking care of Abby!
The month is going very fast and I am enjoying the excitment building to Christmas and counting down the days left of school. The kids are ready for a break and I look forward to being home with them. Slow days....lots of junk food....Christmas movies....late nights playing Monopoly....time spent enjoying our home and each other.
I can't wait!
