Thanks to this we were given the gift of a SNOW DAY...on a Friday, the best possible day for a snow day...except maybe a Monday, oh, who am I kidding, any day is a good day for a free day off! The best part of a snow day is that it is basically an invitation to stay in your pajamas all day. There is absolutely no obligation to go anywhere or do anything. If the big boss of the school division says stay home, who am I to argue?! Murray set off for work, thinking he would just come home early before the worst of the storm hit, but he changed his mind when he got out in the wind and joined us for our at home day.
After a busy Christmas season and trying to get back into routine this week, it was a welcome break that we embraced and were thankful for. I made cinnamon buns, worked on my Move More, Eat Well scrapbook, watched 2 episodes of Parenthood and 1 episode of Nashville, enjoyed my newly organized desk and made a beef stew for supper. The best part of the day was knowing everyone was home safe and sound. Listening to the kids playing X-box, watching Cheer Perfection, working on puzzles, laughing together and sharing space....it was wonderful.
The weather in Manitoba can be unpredictable. Some people think we are crazy for living here with such cold winters. But today, the weather in Manitoba gave us a gift...and I am so thankful.
Cheers to a great weekend...we are off to a great start!
