This weekend we are celebrating my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary and it has been so fun seeing family and friends, visiting and getting caught up. We have made new connections and jump-started old ones. I think that as our life moves forward and we meet new people and share new experiences, I am more and more grateful for the old friends and memories that are so easy to enjoy and slide back with. Watching my kids relaxed and having fun with their cousins, feeling comfortable to move around the room and talk to people....laughing and being silly....just having fun, was so wonderful for me. As a parent I want happy kids, I want confident, polite kids... and last night I got a glimpse of them being those people and it made me smile. Tyler in a tie and the girls in dresses....very cool! Having people tell me I have a beautiful family...humbling. Feeling the love of those around me....inspiring. Helena kept saying "There is love in the air" and she was right....it was a great party.
Today we will head out for breakfast...if the rest of us get up in time!....and then spend time in the pool and sharing food and more visiting. It will be a great day and I can't wait....life is good.
